Make your own conclusion. I was expecting more traffic from Random Detoxication since the price was so high. They estimate that 1536 EntreCard credits worth about $13 and to pay $13 bucks for 20 unique visitors is very expensive. That's more than 50 cents per visitor.
I would like to know if you would pay for visitors and what do you think is fair price for 100 unique visitors?
Despite all those things I don't like about EntreCard I'll continue hosting it's widget only because community around it is interesting.

here's a few rules that may make purchasing ads easier for you.
1. never buy an ad that is more than 512 ec's never ever.
the reason is that each ec is a click and if you get that amount of ec's back you made a good deal;
2. check the rating of the site, the display of the widget, and the update of the blog for comments to see how active it is - that will tell you if you have a chance at clicks.
3. contact the widgetowner and ask them about their record with clickthroughs with sites from your category, if the cost is high. they can tell you if they feel the cost is fair or if it is high. most site owners on entrecard are honest enough to let you know when they feel their site value is inflated.
4. look for bargains in your category by searching the category and looking for good prices on widget bearing blogs, that are similar to yours, in content.
5. interact with your visitors to get them to visit, comment and want to be a part of your community. they are there to visit if you make them feel wanted.
6. always share the very best content and your site will get the very best hits. we got 2 million hits last month on our site. we've gotten more in previous months; but we're happy with a solid visitor base, year round.
