Main Group Blogging Forms

This is another extract from upcoming book: "Group Blogging".

We have already talked about different types of group blogging. Blogging in pairs, complementary blogging and tutors and students are just few types of group blogging.

In general, when talking about group blogging, two different group blogging types can be taken into consideration, regarding number of projects (blogs). First one is one blog - many bloggers and second one is many blogs - many bloggers.

One blog many bloggers is group blogging project where at least two or more bloggers maintain one blog. This is very often starting point for every group blogging project and can develop in many blogs many bloggers form. Downside of this approach is that you put all eggs in one basket. Project may not be successful because of various factors and valuable time is lost. On the other hand, one blog is easier to manage, very simple to promote and potential costs are lower.

Many blogs many bloggers form is complex group blogging project also known as blog network. Here, experience is crucial and administration plays a big role. Costs are higher, but potential earnings too. For individual blogger, this type of project offers wider choice for writing and it is excellent challenge.

Second Month in Make Money Online Writing Articles

Second month of my project has ended. Results are slightly better than in first month, but not much and those results are expected.

I'm still using only Triond and reason for this is that I believe if I could find a way to monetize on one web service, I can do it with others too. Right now, Triond is hosting 9 of my articles on Webupon and 5 of my images on Picable, which means I have doubled content. After last month's 500 hits, in July I had 650 hits. I did some same promotion methods, Thoof, SU and Digg, but also I was more active on Twitter. Other than that I used Scribd to promote my free ebook "How Not To Blog", which contains links to articles, but no result from it, just 20 views.

Lesson from last month is : permanent content improvement. More desirable articles will bring more traffic even if subject is not something that interests me right now. Tutorials and list posts are very welcomed. Howto's articles are also welcomed. This is main guidance for August.

New Inkscape releases

When working with graphics, raster is often first choice and probably PhotoShop or Gimp, which depends on your operating system, but creating vector graphics can also be fun and sometimes even more intuitive than bitmaps.

Inkscape is 100 % free graphic software available also for Linux. But this tool is still young, newest release is 0.46. Here are some new features in latest release: Paintbucket tool, 3D Box tool, Native PDF and AI import, Bitmap editing extension effects, Significant speed and interactivity improvements and hundreds of smaller features and bug fixes. Good thing about Inkscape is that team behind it is working hard and new updates are common. Next release will have eraser, new tool with two modes, pen and pencil tool with few modes like spiro mode, zigzag mode and paraxial mode. Sounds exciting? That's just a tip of the iceberg.

Working with Inkscape is really fun and interesting. Sometimes it's very easy to achieve amazing effects and sometimes I think it's impossible to recreate some things. Inkscape tutorials are not hard to find online, but volume and quality of tutorials are far behind those for PS and other more popular graphical software. However, this void is also great opportunity.
